Tomorrow Girl is a quirky tale delivering a timely reminder about the importance of mindfulness and what can happen when we allow ourselves time to slow down…

Slow down Tomorrow..

“When Tomorrow was a baby, she ran before she could walk. ‘Slow down, Tomorrow,’ said her mother. ‘You’ll fall.’ But Tomorrow kept running.

She ran to kindergarten. ‘Hurry Mama, I don’t want to miss out,’ said Tomorrow.

She ran to school. ‘Quick Mama, I don’t want to be late,’ said Tomorrow.

‘You’ll catch up with the next day if you keep rushing,’ said Tomorrow’s mother.”

Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow

Tomorrow rushes through life and is always onto the next thing.

Yesterday dwells on the things that went wrong in the past and is too frightened to try again.

Today stops to look at the world around them and enjoy the things that are happening right now.
Today sees so many beautiful things that Tomorrow has never noticed as she rushed by – maybe she should slow down after all?

Themes

Themes of mindfulness, worry, friendship, connection and slowing down are topical, as anxiety spikes among primary-school-aged children.
Tomorrow Girl is a timely tale, as more and more people begin to rush through life, causing our kids to forget how they can live in the moment.

Dr Tanya McDonnaugh founder of TMC Psychology writing for Motherdom
“With so many sources of potential anxiety for our little ones at the moment, it is easy for children to get caught up in thinking about where they need to get to, things that have not gone to plan in the past, or worries about what the future holds. This book is a wonderful introduction to the therapeutic benefits of stopping to notice the beauty that is around you, of acknowledging your past and considering your future, but also taking pleasure in the here and now.” Click here for the full review.

What book next?
“Tomorrow hardly sees a thing, rushing here and there. Yesterday is stuck in the anxiety of past mishaps and things gone wrong, too scared to move beyond them. Today will sit and watch tadpoles, lie in the grass to watch clouds or sit in a tree – quiet, still, seeing and appreciating the day he is in.

Mindfulness is a skill to be learnt and cherished so we don’t miss the important things in life. Nature, a smile or a new friendship. Loved it.” Click here for the full review.
